Animation Trouble!

Hi! I’m making an animation where a robot arm is supposed to pick up a cube from the floor, my problem is I dont know how to make the cube follow the robotic arm once it has been picked up. Simply moving it frame by frame is not the answer, I would like to parent it to the claws later in the timeline thus making it follow its movements. Is this possible?

apply a copy location constraint to the cube and animate it’s influence: zero until the cube is picked and one after it’s picked

where have I seen this answered almost exactly by theeth…??

or the specifics:

[I dunno if it is still there btw]

well anyway, the trick is simply a constraint with an IPO on its influence

and solmax beat me to most of it…

It is, and still very much valid as an example file.
