Once again, I have included a thumbnail of the 2D image sequence used to drive the 3D animation. The only keyframes in this video are applied to the camera. The rest of the animation is generated by the Blendgraph python script.
I thought I would try out the effect of “spring” code applied as an expression to the After Effects circle solid in the 2D image sequence. The circles fade in, spring their scale via expression code, then fade out. This spring action is what causes the letters to bounce up and down in the Z direction.
Page #2 of the above link contains a detailed description of how to use the script. It is fairly straight forward. You must use a RGBA image sequence. Assign this image sequence to the material of the bgMaterial object, add some mesh objects to a group, type that group name into the name field and scrub the timeline. Viola, instant animation without keyframes.
NOTE: You can use a single RGBA image for layout. The image sequence allow layout over time.
