another noob question (i've searched)

I am doing a promo for a car club, and have the carclub logo (funnily enough, a car) under a white cloth, to be revealed during the animation. Is it possible for th cloth to remain stationary instead of fluttering around during the opening frames?

Why not just take the first frame and hold on it until you get to the point where you need the cloth to move?
