another particle question

O.K. Here’s what’s stumping me. I have a character who is holding a cigarette and I want the smoke from it to move with the cigarette as it moves. The smoke emitter is parented to the cigarette and everything, but when I animate it, the smoke just keeps emitting from the emitter’s original point.

I know I can push recalc all, and that fixes it for one frame, but I need to animate it and have it move with the cig.

Am I missing something?

You guys are always so much help. I’m going to bake you all cyber cookies.

Oops,

I just saw a post below this one that sort of answers my question.

It talks about particles being precalculated, and armatures being recalculated as the animation goes.

So I guess I’ll have to try and fake it by animating the emitter to follow the cigarette.

hope your still checking this post

animate your scene and just before you render select your emitter and hit tab twice[ enter and exit edit mode] this will reecalculate the particles taking itno account the movement of the armatures.

hope this helps
