well it took about 30min work & rendertime ~30s, backround is Saturn from Cassini… Hope you like it :), Although Crits are very welcome, too…

The lighting looks a little inconsistent. Try this… Low or almost invisible AO for star-light. Raise the sunlight source a little higher up and farther right to account for the highlights on saturn, and an area, hemi, or soft buffer shadow spotlight for reflected light from saturn. This is space, so you shouldn’t have that sourceless ambient light, though backlight from the engines is acceptable.
Try a little variance in the roll of the ships as well to break up some of the monotony of seeing the same side of ships that should be different.

yeah thx for the suggestions… The picture was mainly an experiment with different exhaust types. So I didn’t pay too much attention to the spaceships /backround…
but after all I think the exhaust is rather pretty so i guess i will “implement” what you suggested…
