Another suzanne post...

I was playing around with S68’s knife script and i decided to cut suzanne in half. Afterword i turned subsurf back on for the newly split halves and they looked rather strange, but i like it.

Any ideas of where i can go from here?

I think this happened when I tried out radiosity on suzanne and pressed subsurf after doing radiosity. Try adding lots of different colored materials to the pieces and it might look like some kind of piece of jewellery or decoration. :-?

raytracing?!

This happened to me when I tried beveling Suzanne… Then my computer froze after I rendered it…

That’s strange, it looks like what happens when you subsurf a mesh whos faces are all disconnected.

I’ve seen this effect before when I used subsurf after a script I used. I corrected it in edit mode by selecting all vertices and removing doubles but I too liked the effect, just not for the project I was working on.
Paradox

This looks like suzanne from leaves. Blow her apart. That whould be great. Turn on raytraced shadows. Or even convert it to yafray and put some cool lights on. I think this looks great. Only the shadow right now bothers me.

I don’t know how, but you’ve probably unwelded all the vertexes, which causes every face to be seperate. Subsurf now, and it will subsurf all those faces seperatly, instead of the whole object. Remove doubles and things should be back to normal, I think.
