anothercar: cadillac

again a car modelling (the 3d-freaks have no ideas?)

it’s a 59 cadillac, just now i’m working on the interior. try to render it without AO or vafray or indigo, just the intern render.

so here are the fist pics:

are these the reference pictures… …because if they aren’t 5 stars from me.

wow that’s a quick reply
thanx trak wecka,
but i’m really still working on it. but i want to finish it soon

Beutiful CAR! Wow …no crits from me

WOW!!! awesome, and you didn’t finish yet!!!

very good work so far!

next! next!

seriosly d00d…great work…time to get the materials/lighting in order and some good quality renders, with AO, post processing, the works!!!

g*****d work. (that’s 5 stars

Radiosity? IcoSphere projected lamps? That’s how I think you did the light setup. Pretty nice though, I think the seats look a little odd, so how did you do the light setup and how long did it take to render?

Hi
Lights are 15 spots and two lamps plus 4 lamps inside of the car, but i’m not really satisfied about the shadows and so,the lamps are dupli’s on a divided and transformed plane, but
i’m still working on the interiours, a guy from blendpolis gave me yesterday a link to good ref-pics, and the textures are not finished and some details…

and thanx for comments:)
so here is another wip:

Amazing work. Only part that needs work is the seat texture.
great Image and project!
peace

very good modeling as I can see some good reflections. And the paint shader is awesome, that render if is without AO then, it is seriously very good lighting !

keep it up

im still adding some details, so the lighting is not really finished (it’s sad that the spots have no samples) and i used always ao and now i would like to find a nice solution without it, only lamps, sots and areas…
here is a pic of the “studio”, all the qubes and planes are for the reflexions
(maybe it’s interesting)

hm, i have a version renderd with yafray, not perfekt, maybe i should mix the renders in gimp, and i’m not satisfied with the scene, so do you have some critics?

so here is an update:), still wip and a very slow projekt, again the intern renderer without AO, only 35 buffered spots and a sun

Really cool. I love the chrome and paint job. However, something about the windshield doesn’t seem quite right in this setting… It almost looks like some sort of see-through plastic instead of glass, especially at the bend.

some changes, added some details and tried out the ivy generator:o

Wow i like the lats render the best its pretty awesome 5 Stars from me!!

Fantastic work xilemina 5 stars on the last render. When comparing the last 2 posts there seems to be a different lighting approach. Did you change the type of lights or just the placement? It looks like a shot from and old 60’s movie. How long did it take to render?

Cheers, Kordo.

thanx you for your comments!
i want to work again on the ivy, but i think the rest is finished.

some statistics:
i took 40 spots (dupliverts on a plane) with buf.shadow, “soft 12”, “sample2”,energy 0.120
1 sun, energy 0.3,
3 little lamps inside the building, 1 spot in front of the entrance, 1 area for a background-plane (not visible in the pic,-only for the reflection on the windows and the car)

ca 2.090.000 faces, the blend file is 195mb big, strange, i don’t now why it is so huge

rendertime:ca 20min,1600x1000, on a core2duo 6600, the spots with buf shadow are very fast:)

Pretty good modelling and texturing. The ivy generator did its part, too.

However, I don’t lke the lighting. The light in the scene looks like from an overcast sky. But the sky itself looks to be more like a sunny day. That doesn’t fit together.

Maybe you should try to use indigo for the scene. Should look quite amazing I would imagine. (Yes, it will take a long time to render, but what do they say: Good things come to those who wait… )
