I’d like to get some crits on this game demo. Right now, you can just collect all the ants. Push the space bar to start and stop the lead ant, tap the arrow keys to steer. Get close to the other ants and they should follow. Thanks

Oh rats. You’ll have to also change it to texture and make it full screen. I forgot on this latest upload. Please check for walking through walls.

I like the concept. It’s neat.

The usual bugs I found (no pun intended):

  • Walking through walls.
  • Being able to push the other ants through as well.

Recomendations:

I think the turning for the player ant should be implemented to look more natural. The ant’s that follow have that nice smooth turning action when following the leader, but when the leader turns he turns on a dime. It just doesn’t seem consistent.

Good work on this fireside, keep it up.

Ok, I’ll have to work on that further, I thought I had it fixed. I could slow the turning but it would have some effect on the direction, causing a rounded type of turn. I dislike holding down keys so I like to just tap a motion and get it over with, especially in this type of game.
