Hmmmm… Doesn’t work for me. I can’t open it, even when I add .zip to the end.
had the same problem, are you using windows? if so don’t rename, just right click and use the "extract all"option
#renaming doesn’t alter the file extention, only the displayed name.

an idea… in future if instead of hiding bones, you could use the new bones layers, put all the non-control bones on another layer so it’s easier to display them to figure out what is going on,
