any configurable skin shaders available?

are there any arround that are easy to re/configure and capable of being rendered to uv texture, I know max’s sss couldn’t be RTTed:rolleyes: so I assume solutions for blender may not either, but it need not even be that fancy either, just something to bolster my weak texture skills and look…um… fair enough in a game setting.

no, primarily due to sss issues. I have asked for one. just use an image texture of some skin.to get good effects, you have to use multiple textures: color, spec, refl, and nor. The best is about 3 for color, each with alpha: blood, fat, and epidermal.

It’s not designed with configurability in mind though.

thanks for your help on this I see what happens. I’ve also given serious consideration to cel/toon shading, been hunting arround for general purpose glsl shader aswell, I was thinking that if the textures aren’t going well, this might be a more viable solution especially If I can pull off that drawn on black paper look like batman and such “love that”.

…yeah sort of, have u ever seen the Batman animated series the old(best one IMHO) that had that 1930s gangster and tommy guns setting, batman of the future, spawn and Teen Tittans, notice that even in the day there is a hint of darkness bleeding through the scene… sort of thing.

if you are old enough Sin City toon shaded:cool:…kind of hard for me to explain hope you understand.

I loved it, that “flash in in front your eye” pace, precision and brutality of the fighting with the well placed dramatic pauses:) … was like japanese animation without the god awful english dialogue
