Any ideas for modeling these ridges?

Hey all! pretty new with modeling and have been struggling to find the best way to model this cone object. I’m mostly struggling with how to make the front panel that’s separate from the rest, but still follows the extruded pattern. Thanks for the ideas!

Maybe something like this:


Start with a fairly subdivided mesh and select some strips of faces which you move out of the plane. Leaving enough faces in between the ridges is important. Then add a subdivision surface modifier. The cutout is probably easiest achieved with a boolean.
