Any kind of "STL check" for Blender?

Does anyone know if there is a script or something that will do, in Blender, essencially what the “STL check modifier” does in 3DS Max? i.e. some form of way to highlight edges with no faces or edges used by more than two faces.

When in edit mode, choose the Select Manifold entry in the Select menu (3d window header).
