I recently built a new computer based on a chipset with no graphics support. What this means is that my monitor must be driven with the same graphics card I use for render, and when I use GPU rendering in Cycles it makes my computer very slow and unresponsive. Is there any way to fix this?
Ideally I’m looking for something similar to what you get with CPU rendering, where you can reduce the number of “threads” utilised. I know this isn’t possible directly because GPU uses 1 tile, but anything short of buying a dedicated display GPU would be appreciated!
Hi, this is not possible atm. in Blender Cycles.
I use Octane render engine and there is a feature called “Render Priority” what exactly does this so in theory Cycles can do this too.
At some time it will be implemented in Cycles but nobody knows when.
