Last time I saved this file just fine. No error, computer didn’t shut down midway, nothing that could cause it to be saved incompletely or incorrectly.
I can’t even access individual meshes by Appending/Linking from another blend.
There’s always an “unable to open file” error in the console.
It has some important CAD data for a project.
(Yes, blend1 files are turned off, never needed in 7 years of using this program…)
The error message says missing DNA block. I’d assume you are not getting this data back

It cannot be important if you don’t have a backup of the data so no real loss
hate to say it, but hes kinda right. ive had my run in with lost data, too. it sucks, but it taught me how to back up. never trust a computer, ever.
i keep an up-to-date copy on a high speed flash drive which i update at the end of the day or when i do something big, then i have a back up computer which gets up dated every week or so, then i have a legacy hard drive, disconnected from any computer, which i update less often.
i use no dumb-ass update/sync/backup software, all manual. like i said, never trust those sneaky back-stabbing computers.
