I’m using Blender 2.80, and I’m trying to use the VSE to edit some home videos.
I noticed that there is no ‘Sharpen’ filter available in the VSE so I started searching for some other way, and I found a couple of old posts on Blender Stack Exchange that seemed to be relevant:
https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/50612/how-do-i-sharpen-video-strips-in-blender
and
https://blender.stackexchange.com/questions/39701/compositor-nodes-are-not-affecting-rendered-video
I couldn’t get either of these to work in Blender 2.80.
The first link’s answer merely created a lot of coloured artifacts, although I found some of the answer’s statements ambiguous, and the text didn’t seem to match the screenshots, so I may have done it wrong.
The second link’s answer required adding the current scene to the VSE, something which is not possible in Blender 2.80.
I was hoping to do everything in Blender, if only to avoid multiple processing of the video files, but I’m starting to think the Blender VSE’s lack of a sharpen filter is going to kill that idea.
Is there any way to sharpen a video in Blender without processing the video multiple times?
