I finally got the .blend of the Avatar for my MMO.
I was going to share them on OpenGameArt.org but they’re licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License which isn’t supported. Ruth 2.0 is also AGPL and is hosted on Github I guess I could do that but it not the first place you look for 3d models.
Anyone know of any model sharing sites that support the AGPL?
why not use creative commons? gpl is best for code.
Because CC is for freeware not Open Source, doesn’t require you to provide it in the form that is preferred to edit. You can bake(3D) or flatten(2D) it then only distribute that.
Case in point Second Life takes bakes textures so you can’t rip items. Which means you can’t use non ND CC license on SL as they all have the clause “No additional restrictions — You may not apply legal terms or technological measures that legally restrict others from doing anything the license permits.”
