Hi friends! I can create good things but I have a some problems and I have to learn a few things. How can we export or copy an object in one blend file to another file. Is that possible or should we create that model again for new animation. Can’t we use same objects in our new blend file? ( I dont mean transfer between different mirrors, I mean transfer between different files) . My second problem is Python. I can export 2D and 3D outputs and I never use Python because I dont know enough about it. What can we do more with Python? Another window warns me, each time I start Blender. Is the reason Python? If you help me, I ll be very happy.
About sharing objects between files: Go to the destination file, and do file->append. Pick the source file and then find the appropriate object/whatever in the pseudo-directory system for that file; having well named objects will help a lot.
You can also link to the data, which means you can’t change it in the destination file without hitting a button to make a local copy, but you can change it in the source file and have the destination change too (like alt-D between files).
(Also, I just noticed that trying to undo after a make-local can cause NASTY ERRORS FROM HELL in RC3 . . . )
Thank you very much Star Weaver, that function is very useful. That means blender users can use each others creations. That is wonderful ! (But I have to say that I could not understand “RC3”. ) Thank you Star Weaver.
RC3…See this for more information on software release cycles. Basically, RC3 means that this version of the software is a “release candidate” issued prior to the next version release.
Thanks Pixelmass, that was helpful. I think I have to read more about that program.
