Anyone care to D.A.N.C.E.?

To anyone who might be interested, I now have a Linux version of DANCE working along with a few fixes.

Thanks for the update Ari! Any other new features that folks here should know about?

All,

I have posted a new version of DANCE including a binary version that does not require compilation.

DANCE allows you to simulate ragdolls, use dynamic pose control, import and save motion capture and create high-quality renderings.

The DANCE website is located at http://www.magix.ucla.edu/dance/

one bumb and my try-experiences

some of the walking videos on the website look impressive
so i did try the danve_v3 version. The precompiled linux-part
starts in ubuntu-8.04 but crashes soon with some bodys (glutinit missing error).
The recompile was not possible, too much strange dependencies

  • some minor c++ errors (is it not gcc-4.2 compatible? …
  • but most it looks like the last changes were only made in windows and never checked
with a recompile of all libs.
    .
    .
    Had anyone more success?
    .
    .
at the moment i try more with pyode and pygame-output to get a bit insight in ode.
