Anyone created an adventure game using Blender? :)

Hi!

I am currently trying to create an adventure game (horror adventure, to be exact), and given i am making all models with Blender, I would love to just use that for the finished game as well. I was wondering if anyone here has any tips/info on using the engine for this type of game.

Particularly a hybrid between point n click and semi-3d environment (i am not yet decided if it will be full 3d in the style of Scratches, or allow for limited camera move to some directions/angles by pressing keys).

Please help if you know anything about such game design in Blender!

(a small teaser, although it is entirely WIP and this won’t be in the final demo…)

There are a number of games in the ‘Finished games’ section.

Ihave seen a sample clip of a flying game, that looks quite good for the Engine system blender has, as we all know it is fairly basic at the moment. I found out that surf Nurbs don’t don’t work yet, so curves are annoyingly done with a plane.

The only tutorial I could suggest is some basic clips on the site Youtube, that was where I learnt how to parent a camera to an object, a weapon that is and pan around, and move forward so far.

There are a number of users on here who will be able to assist with complex aspects of the game engine. From the view of it, this section does look empty. I imagine people create and don’t finish or release a small game, and then leave.

Thanks

Yes, i already noticed some excellent tutorials on YT by posters in this forum, in the tutorial section…

Making a computer game is no small feat, moreso if one (like myself) is not a programmer/animator by nature of uni studies/work. However i hope i can finish the demo (it seems that i will be able to, only don’t know if it takes a couple of months or more…)

Well the benefit of the this game engine is some of the work is done by it, as for programming for quite nice effects a bit of python is the way to go. I’m kind of curious to know myself, how do the environments look so polished?

If you mean the brief animated scene in the room corridor, i edited the blender storyboard with Gimp, and used Gaussian blur level 1 on all images  It helps take away any pixely stuff…

Well im aslo currently working on one except that i only have terrains moddeled for it at this point in time. but hopefully when i will have more time for blending again i will return and polish all my projects. Anyway jus keep workin on your project im sure that you’ll come along quite well.

Thank you!
Good luck with your own project too!!!

Thanks a lot, friend of Tezcatlipoca… the enemy of both sides
