I have a G3 iMac and am running Mac OSX 10.2.8. However, Blender 2.37a or w/e it’s called (the newest version), will not run whatsoever on my computer. Everytime I boot it up, it unexpectedly quits. Are there any other 3D programs similar to Blender that will run on my cruddy computer?
Hi ipodrules,
I’m not running an iMac, but a Desktop with the following specs:
G3, 350mhz, 576MB ram, OS-X 10.2.8, and Blender 2.37a. I do not have any problems at the present time. The only thing I can think of off hand, is memory. Mine came with 64MB, and I bumped it up to 576MB. How much do you have? Did you drag the Blender folder that you downloaded, to your applications folder? Maybe you can reinstall Blender, that has helped some people in the past. Also, one time I had to drag my Blender preferences file to the trash, when Blender was’nt working right, a new file will be generated when Blender is opened.
I do not know much about macs, but I have run blender on one
it was one of the graphite [limited edition?] ones, they are currently running 10.3 but were running an earlier version [couldn’t run safari] prior to that…
blender ran fine, but the publisher 2.25 version had issues with flickering in the game engine
did you try “thousands of colors” mode?
I have 192 MB of memory… I think this may be my problem. :x
I GOT IT WORKING!!! I SET IT TO THOUSANDS OF COLORS (as opposed to millions) AND I DRUG BLENDER INTO THE APPS FOLDER!!! THANKS TO BOTH OF YOU! Woo hoo!
