Anyone give example of where unpinning an Action Strip is useful and the only way?l

Hi there,

I’m a bit confused about what the benefits of ‘unpinning’ an action strip are.

I realise that it allows you to move the strip but leave the keyframes where they are, but when you exit tweak mode, the goes back to acting as if it was pinned anyway, so in actual animation playback, unpinning has no effect.

Also to change the relationship between the start of the action strip and the keyframes contained within it, you can leave the strpp pinned and move the keyframes in the dope sheet, -OR- change the start frame of the strip then move the strip along to have a similar effect.

So why would we ever need ot unpin a strip? What purpose can it serve that cannot be done any other way? I’d love to hear an example, thanks!
