Anyone knows how to do this on Arnold? Fast glass pattern rendering

So on this tutorial of Blender Guru at 5:10 (Or 6:46 I think) you can see it, basically he uses the light path node so he can pass light throught glass and make it render fast. This would allow to render glasses with some kind of pattern like this
I need to know cause in class I have to use 3DS Max and it comes with Arnold.
