Anyway to "replicate" Blender Render's "soft light" halo look in EEVEE 2.9?

Yes …perhaps on the round-end Lazer…you could (In edit Mode) add a sphere to the end of the cylinder…with a new material applied…then you could combine the effect to the cylinder and the sphere…

Yeah, I tried combining a cylinder and sphere, cylinders result in the strange pointy singularity laser, which is a good effect for something else entirely. When I tried to combined the cylinder and sphere ends, it resulted in this:

I’ll probably have to tweak and use multiple, shorter cylinders to achieve the effect.

Anyways, the light sphere is working as intended mostly:

The pulsating effect happens when moving in render view as you can see, which is cool, I wonder if its possible to make it pulsate like that either through keyframing a modifier/scale or via animating the material?

When rendering in EEVEE, the resulting image has the light orb look strange(and its light going through other objects).

However, it looks fine when screenshotting with the the viewport of Blender as can be seen here.

I guess I would have to adjust something in the settings of the render or material? Perhaps the multiple passes that I’ve read about a few times but never tried out?

EDIT: Didn’t notice until now her weapon is going through her hands in the Render, I know it’s due to forgetting to keyframe something.

Found my old blender files where I did the light experiments on 2.78.

Looks like the light didn’t display in real time, only if rendered.

Thanks again for the help from all that contributed, I can at least have a light orb for scenes now at least.
