Gotcha… making fun of those lame 12 year old kids. You know what’s even worse… I’ve heard that the IM language is making it’s way into school papers. Kids are answering Shakespear quizzes with “2 b or ! 2 b” (Or are they smart enough to use ‘!’ for “not” yet?).
Either way, I hate it all, hehe. I don’t mind a few of them… lol, rofl, brb, afk, etc. I mean, “lol” is just better than “(I’m laughing right now)”. Most of those are either for expressing emotions through text, or very simple common things “brb” for “be right back” or “bath room break”, and “afk” for “away from keyboard”. But ‘2’ for “to”, ‘r’ for “are”, etc… can’t stand it. That’s why I hate wireless text messaging (no real keys), I’d much rather just talk. As for internet chat… LEARN TO TYPE! Those kids are going to need to at some point, and once you get there, you realize a touch typist can type “are” faster than a hunt-and-pecker can hit ‘r’.
