Append troubles *Fixed*

Please pardon me if the answer to this question is obvious, but I have already searched the forums and the knowledge base yet I cannot find any references to any similar problems.

Anyway, I’ve got this nice little cup looking all nice and fine in its own .blend file.

But when I simply append the object to another .blend file, I get the horrible result you see here:

As you can see, the image texture goes completely nuts despite the fact that all the material and texture settings are exactly the same as in the original file. I’ve tried many things such as appending the materials, images, objects, and textures separately, but nothing seems to change.

I hope this description was clear enough. If not, please ask and I’ll try to clarify further.

I’m hoping I’m just doing something stupid here. I still consider myself to be a Blender beginner, so that’s very possible. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for any tips.

EDIT —> Problem fixed.

looks like the texture mapping on the bottom image is different. how are you mapping the top and bottom images?

If you used global coordinates or perhaps object mapping that could explain it, but I can’t think of a good reason why moving an object from one blender to another would alter the mapping at all. Can you tell us what settings you’re using at the moment?

Problem fixed. The answer really was quite simple and obvious, so I don’t know why it took me so long to catch it. The cup’s body was mapped globally and I was moving it after I appended it. Duh! :expressionless: Anyway, sorry to bother you and thanks for replying.
