When adding another model to my blend file I use append but if I have a model with a few parts and textures how do I add all of them at once?

I’m not sure, but I think you can append a scene.

if you right click on things when you are appending them you can select more that one thing at once

Thanks, Scabootssa, that worked fine, even though some parts were in another layer.
