Appending problems

I’ve asked about this before and I’m sorry to hassle you all…

I’ve got two quite complex, armatured models in different .blend files, and I want to put them together

I’ve tried to import one into the other using Append but I find either…

1: I have to bring one file into the other one object at a time. When I do this I find it is no longer attached to the armature

2: I use Append > Scene. I then end up with two different Scenes in the same file! I can look at one or the other, but have no way of combining them

Is there a way round this?

Don’t bring them in one at a time.

If you right-click on things in the Append… structure, say Objects, they’ll go light purple… tag a mesh and it’s associated empties and armatures and it all stays connected like it should. (highlighting the importance of descriptive names) Lacking that, just tag every object and force it to a specific empty layer, then delete what you don’t want and put it on your in-use layers…

AFAIK you cannot merge scenes. But I know little.

you can append everything within a .blend file by pressing the A key in the file selection window. maybe that will work = )

Thankyou thankyou!
I don’t know why I didn’t guess you could right-click names to select more than one, or that the A key would do it’s normal All function.
