Hello.

I’m still a beginner with Blender & would appreciate some help please.

I started learning blender about 2 years ago with older version, until time I could not continue - till now.

I’ve been trying to download latest version on different computer, but I keep geting this message:

"
Blender.exe – Application Error
The application failed to initialize properly (0x0150002). Click OK to terminate application.
"

Please help me figure out how to overcome this error!

Lots of things can go wrong, but …
Make sure you’ve downloaded the right version of Blender for your OS
If you’re on windows, make sure you have the right to install programs.
If it still doesn’t work, please give more details on your OS and Blender version.

VERSIONS:
My Operating System is Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3.
When downloading, I have always been selecting from Windows 32 bits.

USER RIGHTS:
I will try to check on this and let you know by tomorrow please.

On XP 32 you also need that Microsoft 2008 redistributable thingy. Or you are launching a 64bit version of Blender in a 32 bit operating system.

I managed to install the latest version on a different computer, which is good enough for me right now.

Probably the issue was with user rights - but I just want to Blend again.

Hopefully, I shall post more useful & relevant threads real soon.

I had this same problem. downloading Microsoft Redistributable (as Atom said) fixed it. Thanks Atom.
