apply parent transforms to children


I was wondering if anyone knows if you can apply a parent’s transform to its children? For example, say I parent a cube to an empty, then scale the empty (or for that matter both objects selected at the same time). I now want to make the cube’s local coordinates the same as its world coordinates. Apply Scale/Rotation (Ctrl A) doesn’t seem to have any effect with any combination of objects selected…

Does this call for python?


When you Alt-P to remove the parenting you have the option to “Keep Transformation.”

Thanks - that’s good to know! Ideally I’d keep the heirarchy though and just propagate the transformations down to offspring… Scripting beckons!
