Hi guys
So i would like to use a preset rig i have on a different mesh using pose to move the bones where they should be but I can’t get it to work How can i set the “edit standard pose” to the new pose so if i switch from object pose to edit the bones remain in the same position.In the pictures i tried to use pose to get the bones in position then do automatic weights athe last picture shows the arms have been forced into the sides and the legs widened .
In short how can i have the pose be installed as the new default. I read something about “apply pose as rest pose” but can’t find it .

Thank you that worked but it revealed a new issue. If i already have a mesh connected to the armiture once i pose it and select apply as rest pose the original mesh returns to its original pose leaving the bones in the new pose how can i stop this from happening i need the orinal mesh to stay connected if i apply a new pose.
Apply the armature modifier to the mesh in the pose you want. Then apply the pose to the armature. Then parent the mesh to the armature again. Rather than choosing empty groups or automatic weights, just choose the “armature deform” option and it will parent the mesh and use the existing vertex groups.
Ok thx that makes sense in a blender way. Works so a few more steps than I would think needed but not too bad in the end. Thx for the help
