I used a hair particle system to randomly duplicate a cornstalk mesh across a plane. Is there a way I can apply this particle system to make it all just one mesh?

My first thought, right off the bat, is to go into object mode, select the object that has the particles on it, hit F9 to get into the Editing Buttons, go to the “mesh” panel, and click on the “convert” button under the particle system modifier.
Perhaps, I missed something…
