Approach to modelling

Dear B-artists

I’m trying to model this cats skull. I’ve 3 reference images set up within Blender and have tried various different styles such as using a cube with a subsurf modifier and extruding vertices to outline the key edges & trying to create polygons from this. I’m not having much success. Not sure If I should be using a few different meshes rather than trying to model the whole thing in one go?

I was hoping you’d be able to offer a favoured approach, and perhaps recommend some tutorials that may help.

Thanks in advance
A

that’s a very complicated form, and there is no easy way. i would recommend doing a rough version without all the details, and not worrying about topology, then retopo it keeping in mind where the various extrusions and edge loops need to be in order to model in the detail. then move the base to another layer, exit retopo mode, and finish up the details.

Thats going to be very hard to model.

It shouldn’t be too challenging if you have ever modeled a human face though.
