Ok, this is driving me to insanity. I’m working on a subaquatic animation, so far just about nothing has textures, very little materials done, just base models that themselves are still be fiddled with. Figuring to get a better idea of what should get the most attention first, I set up the animation aspect for this as far as camera movements and a submarine. Hit render to get some stills and I find a nice, big, ugly line through the render.
Anybody have any ideas how to murder this glitch? (or in short, HELP!)
Not every one gets that line either, its only those near the end, close to the landscape.
Update: the glitch appears to be caused by the “halo” feature of a spotlight. This problem appears to be present in several of the blender beta’s, as I have rendered this in various 2.5X releases to the same result.
I’ll PM it to you when I get a chance to upload it somewhere…
There’s no U/Vs in the background (I’m still not too great with U/V mapping yet, so that comes later).
There is 1 U/V map for the submarine, but that’s not even in there right now, no image or anything and at that, its all of maybe 6 faces that I used to put a graffiti sign on it as a joke…
Just a guess here, but maybe it’s something to do with render tiles? Try changing the X and Y values under Render > Performance > Tiles to some other value and see if it still occurs.
