architectural mapping addon

Check this website. Could use a manual. http://www.mindonwaves.com/misc/blender-addon-archi-uv/

Ok wow, going to test that now, as i’m working on some objects for a game studio that are damn annoying to unwrap without distortion.
Maybe this is the solution i’m looking for. World based co-ordinates for tiling -> bake to smart UV with low angle thresh hold for minimal distortion =

Thanks for sharing the link

edit: seems to work fine on latest stable blender build (2.78a),
it sometimes produces strange unwrap results on some more complex meshes, but works well for simple geometry

thank you. This will be very useful. It would be nice if the unwrap could be more integrated into blender norms. As in it was part of the default uv unwrap menu. Other than that, big thumbs up.

If you leave a comment under “about” on the website, maybe a better manual could be prepared. Especially for newbies like me. I just don’t understand all the functions. Thanks

I’m testing our script with a scene I’m working on.
I’ve a question that probably could be a suggestion for develop further this script.

It’s seems that I can’t set the real dimension of the texture and I have to do it only using my eyes scaling the UVs.

Am I wrong or is it like I wrote?

If not possible as it seems (at least for me), do you think you could expand your addon with this tool?
If yes, it could be super if you this will be applied with a multiple objects selection.

Imagine a flat apartment with coloumns, beams and ceiling with a concrete material.
You found a good texture that has a real scale dimensions of 2mt x 2mt.
Now, you select coloumns, beams and ceiling, you assign the “concrete material”, you use your addon to unwrap the models but the texture seems too small.
At the moment, the only thing that you can do is to select one object by object and scale the UV manually without a reference to have the right dimensions.

Thanks in advance for your reply
