Just tried to make Vray-like exterior rendering with blender internal.
It is good that blender supports external renderers, but the most integrated, and the most stable with blender is internal renderer, it’s fast and its material, texture and compositing nodes are the power.
This scene is just try to set up Vray-like exterior lighting with blender internal, house is very simple, it’s modeled just for taking place since it is an architectural rendering.
I agree BI is very good for exterior architectural renderings. I understand you just made a simple test model so I wil not comment on it’s details. I think you got the light a bit too harsh but not bad. The reflection in the windows must be improved for real “vray” effect, even if you have to trick it. Now they look a bit opaque. Please post your results if you work more on this scene
I think that the image looks good, only complaints are as stated above, the lights looks a bit hard (which can be a problem with BI) and the reflections in the windows doesn’t look realistic. The reflection should probably be of the boat or at least not a empty blue sky.
I think the modeling is great, and overall its a good looking scene.
