Are you dissatisfied with youtube?

Watch this:

Didn’t watched this completly… but if someone does make a living by just only making content on YT then there will be and are people who makes crap content and are paid for this… but it’s like all other things on the internet: you have to search for it with different search machines and maybe with anonymous browsers because for example if you select one video on YT then all the suggestions are mostly the same. Sometimes even from the same creator. And sometimes the suggestions (or answers in a forum) are really bad after the first page (third answer in some forums… i have a problem wih X / then use Y :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:)
The problem is: What do someone expect if using the internet?

For example here on BA some people ask what to buy without any context… how should anybody know?? Everbody has to learn (using a computer) 3D and blender from scratch… you don’t need a RTX 4090 for 2000$ (which was a joke of mine some time ago but it seems to be they do name it that way) to play around with some basic features and learn it. (You first car also wouldn’t be a 65000$ car completly new with all your extra whishes… oh than it would be 76000$ but mostly a used/smaller one to practice driving on a daily routine … but i’m getting of topic)

I’m dissatisfied with some content creators (even for blender) and i’m bored to find video tutorials for some simple tasks (like adding an addon… oh no  4th entry on a general search engine: a video and on the big G the first one is the blender docu and then YT videos and seaching on YT gives dozen of…)

Oh my this text is getting long…
I think the real problem is: People are too lazy to think. It’s easier to consume nonsense. Maybe some day there are people stupid enough to assault there capitol or neighbour country because they believe… ohh wait…

Sorry that you are dissatisfied.

For me, zero problems with YouTube.

Very helpful for tutorials and info of any kind.
Especially some YouTube tutorials for software are incredibly well done andd amazingly still free for the viewer (except for maybe watching a commercial).
I don’t mind the commercials much, as I have cookies & Tracking as far off as possible, it’s thankfully mostly not relevant to me at all.

Easy to find, usually you find out in the first few seconds if the video is helpful or not.
Subscribed to those channels which I found good solutions on.

No!

a particularly useful platform to harvest info shared by people that usually know what they’re doing, especially when you’re in a bit of a bind for rapid resolution, as opposed too socials/discord/slack…etc where it can be a pain in the arse to sort through the chaff.

I didn’t mean YT as only a place to get info from, I meant a place where you POST your actual cartoon on, after making it.

And how people should know this if you don’t bother to make your point in the first place?

Are you just a bot that posts random hype news or asks random questions without having an opinion?

I am dissatisfied with monopolies or companies with a large dominant position, so any new service that expands competition is welcome to me (as long as the smaller company is not allowed to be absorbed by the larger company just to make the competition disappear).

If I was to point an irritating thing about YT it would be that they are pushing you your own channel when you want to make your first comment. That way they have better stats but many unused channels. This is a monopolist practice. And Odysee seems to be a YT’s clone, at least with regard to content.

In my opinion, the main problem with Youtube (and secular tech. companies in general) is that whenever they change the terms of service, they almost always become more restrictive and more controlling. Combined with the over-reliance on AI, it is almost guaranteed you will see a strike, a restriction, or a ban on your account unless you only post things like dog or cat videos.

This is why a lot of alternative platforms are trying to get off the ground, you really can’t count on a post you make now to not lead to an account ban 5 years later (because TOS changes are made even worse by how they are often retroactive).

In general, I think Youtube having some actual competition would be a good thing overall.

Yeah, OP seems to exclusively make topics about weird, obscure, divisive issues in an attempt to stir up “ask Reddit”-esque engagement. Whatever floats their boat, I guess
