area light?

anybody know how to keep an Area light from casting shadows? I’m trying to make it so it only illuminated an object and brings out its specular highlights without the shadows.


select the lamp and then go to the shaders tab (F5). under the lamp buttons, deselect “ray shadow” from the shadow and spot section. hope this helps :smiley:

you can also just make it effect the Specular by turning on No diffuse
that way you just get the shine without it effecting the diffuse
