I’ve decided to add another project to my long list. This is going to be a mid-sized arena/ obstacle course for my spiderbot (a robot I modeled a while back) and an enemy robot (not modeled, yet another item for the list). My plan is to get the general outline first, and add details later. Here’s what I have so far. Oh, and the 4th one is discombobulated just for fun.
Any Ideas, comments, and critiques are always welcome.
Looks good so far - it might look even better if you addd some scaffolding and oil drums to give some variety to the level. Sorry, I dont have much to add at this early stage.
Heres a small update.
-added a small walkway on the side. I plan on making the staircase lead to some high scaffoling/beams.
-dug up my spiderbot and managed to reduce the poly count to around 200,000
-made minor changes to bot, fixed some things that were bugging me
Well, its been a while, but heres another update. I haven’t been working on this much, I’m much too easily distracted.
This time, I went ahead and added walls, a small tunnel in the floor, as well a few minor changes. I’m still trying to thing of creative things to do with the walls. I really don’t want to just leave them plain. My ideas so far consist of 1) pipes, 2) random channels cut into the walls, and 3) maybe some electronics panels.
Eventually I’ll add some more details to all the objects on the floor and hopefully get them textured. Texturing is my weakest area, so I’ll have to work on that.
I dunno, how about miniature hydro towers. Also lights could go on the walls and ceiling, and if there’s no ceiling, use taut cable strung from the walls to suspend lighting racks.
