Armature Rest Pos

I have an armature that I have deformed, and I want to bring it back to its Rest Position for the start of an animation. But IKEY->LocRot will not save when RestPos is toggled on. I don’t find mention of doing this in the documentation. Is there a way?

select all of the bones
alt+r [clear rotation]
alt+s [clear scale]
alt+g [clear location]

works on objects too
