Armature...

Here’s a easy question… Why does my object scale down when I have
Parented, grouped & then pressed Ctrl+Tab and then rotated the
armature?

Well you have your object parented to the armature, so it’s constrained to the armature’s transformations. Ctrl-Tab is POSE mode where you can move your armature and see the deformations on the child mesh. If you want to simply edit the armature and not affect the child object, just press Tab instead of Ctrl-Tab. You could also unparent the two by pressing Alt-P.
