Armatures IPO and Blender 2.40

I can’t use anymore animations in games using armatures IPO.
What can I do for creating my animations to be used in games?

The 2.40 game engine has no armature support. Period. To fake it, you could have each “bone” be a seperate object with offset centres and give them each Loc/Rot IPOs of some sort.

does this mean I need to make a 3dmodel into pieces to make this work at all? Can I use the oldschoolway vertex at frame by frame?.. :Z

If you need to use armatures, stick to 2.37a or something.

Does anyone know when armatures might make it back into the game engine?

No. The next couple of versions are going to be about rendering, texturing and post processing, but hopefully we can get some GE goodies

Thank you all, but I think if we are being forced to use another GE.
I don´t know about Blender internal but maybe without GE other features work better.
I have been investing some time to use de GE to produce interactive presentations, but that´s ok.
Trere are other alternatives!

Armature support for the gameengine will be added for the next release, 2.41. Probably in a few weeks, if I got the time.
