Armatures

Is there any way to make an armature rotate only around one axis???

I make some kind of robot and I like to use IKA to animate the armes but I need an armature that rotates only around one axis.

I built an armature that may do what you need. It’s an IK chain for a leg. The cool thing about it is that the foot/knee/hip joints function with proper IK, but when you pull them laterally, the whole leg rotates as one. In other words, you don’t get the sideways deformation you normally do. If this sounds like what you’re after, I can post a link to a file.

Hi,

If you don’t mind me asking, how’d you do it, please? :-?

To rotate in one direction simply press either x, y, or z while rotating.

Pressing X will cause the object to only rotate around the x axis.
Pressing Y will cause the object to only rotate around the y axis.
Pressing Z will cause the object to only rotate around the z axis.

rather simple really

As for how that leg is made, check out http://blenderchar.weirdhat.com/

GOOD LUCK
