This is an animated title sequence I created for “Around Liberty in 90 Seconds,” the weekly video news production for my university. The globe features school landmarks and buildings.
It is finished for now. There are a couple render errors in this version, but I will fix those and render in HD in a few weeks after they send me the music and I re-time it.
Created in 2.55 and 2.56. Might have been a few things created in 2.49.
Good job so far, but i wouldn’t call it done. First of all, if you aren’t working on it already, it needs sound. There are plenty of websites that offer free sound effects like the ones i could see you using here.
Your implied scale is awesome on this piece, you really make it seem like its a handheld model. One problem i had was the camera motion. It just seemed too choppy and linear. Try using a path to animate the camera instead of keyframes, it will add to the fluidity of the shots and take away the speed-up-slow-down aspect.
Also, just for creativity sake, try messing with the DoF while filming. For instance, on the shot of the football stadium, have the camera’s focus go from one end to the other with relatively high blur. This will add much more depth to the piece.
Thanks, mate.
I’m waiting on music from the producer before I mix the sound, that’ll be a few weeks yet.
Thanks for the tip on the camera movement. That should help a lot.
I’m gonna see about getting this moved over to Focused Critique, to get some more insight.
