Arrays and Origins

How do I get the array modifier to set the duplicate object’s origins to where the duplicate is, rather than where the original is?

You would have to apply the modifier then select the duplicates and use the ‘Set Origin’ option in the toolshelf

If you need the origin to be elsewhere simply for useful rotating/scaling/etc-ing, you might just parent your array to an Empty that is placed where you’d prefer your origin to be, then rotate/scale/etc the Empty.

Create an empty just to set the origins??? That’s overkill!

Thanks Benny G. The video didn’t cover anything to do with individual pivot points. It seems to be quicker to just separate the objects in the array and then reset their origins manually, than it is to go looking for a quicker solution.
