Art Dump - A year or so of Art

While I’m far and away from being a great artist, I figured some people might be interested in seeing what I have done “Lately”. Much of this work is from between the middle '09, through the middle of '10. I have only made 2-3 things since then due to life bearing down hard on me.

Below this you will find huge amounts of insanely awesome art in no particular order.*
*The above statement may have been grossly exaggerated for effect, exercise discretion.

Created this latest one for Andrew Price’s competition but decided not to submit it as I have a very strong gut feeling abstract art has no chance against realistic art in this type of competition with only one judge.

As I’ll say again down below, I love everything about this planets atmosphere; sunsets, clouds, rain, fog, aviation, etc.

Hate that everthing “has” to be realistic, so I threw the realism bone to the newbs, and decided to try my hand at a dreamworks/pixarish style.
Huge thanks to DaveC (http://davecollison.com/) who donated the awesome Heffalumpet models.

That’ll be all Ladies and Gents. I’d love to hear what you think!

Great modeling.
Most of them could really use some textures.
For example, the head saw thing would look excelent with a wood texture…

So much goodies here. I would skip the simplest one, because they lower the quality impression of overall good modeling. Try to post only your best works (which are plenty in here).

these are all awesome, you need to give yourself more credit because in my opinion you are a great artist!

Thanks for the input!

Freemind, why do you think it needs textures?

Jose, It is an art dump, not a brag book.

xJ, thank you buddy. I’ll be honest, I do like some of my pieces a lot, but trying to keep a cool head I realize that I don’t hold a candle to so many other artists. I got my place in the world, they got theirs and I’m not trying to push myself into that higher level without earning it. I do try hard every time I make something though!

Nice work you have amazing modeling skills.

I love it  great job!

wow, simply amazing work. may i ask how long you’ve been doing 3d?

Thank you LightBulb. I have been doing 3D since roughly late '06 so it’s been some 4ish years now I guess.

I def understand what u mean, there are of coarse very good artists on here but you def have a shot with them and i noticed you have been doing this around 4 years now, i have been doing 3d modeling since last october and i love it, always trying to improve but keep it up and hope to see more work from you!

Sigh My Blender time is only about 45 minutes after 1:00AM and that only 2-3 times a week. The very first image way up top there was created during one of those early morning blender sessions. But the other ones that clearly have more work than just 45 minutes in them took a long time to create due to my lack of free time.

well i wish u the best of luck

Freemind, why do you think it needs textures

Because it looks unfinished.

@Freemind. A lot of the untextured models were made for SMCs (speed modeling competition), or to sell on the 3D Studio.
