I did this for the blender guru comp. First time using cycles hair and sss. Really fun stuff. Cycles is becoming a really mature package. Lots of compositing in blender with some post processing in gimp.
Nice character, could you share some post processing you did ? glow? or blur ?
The glow effect was a combo of a blurred mist pass and two ellipse masks that were blurred. I overplayed them and change the factor values to what I liked and adjusted the the colour to a bluish tinge.
Great stuff!, I kinda feel that the eyes are not seeing in the same direction.

I forgot to say that in my opinion there should be some snow over his hair, to match it with the environment
yes that is true, Unfortunately my computer was barely chugging along as it is with this scene.
