Artifacts even with texture filtering set to "off"

There is no real way to disable texture filtering apparently. Doing the suggested thing of turning interpolation and mip-maps off and using box filter with .1 size results in very ugly artifacts around the edges of textures with alpha, as shown here:

Anyone know how I can work around this, maybe with the help of a plugin? THanks

Lol, it’s a robot based quite obviously on the boarshead yes. I’m making a Descent/II spiritual successor in classic mid-90s style. I will keep you updated if you’re interested.
