Artifacts on brickwork


After I extruded my walls up from a vertex drawn shape and smoothed, they were textured with a brick & brick bump . So far so good. I extruded the thin gray strips around the building which caused a distortion of the brick texture below them. I have reset the normals to outside and changed the lighting, but it keeps happening, even after several restarts. Any suggestions please.

Maybe problematic geometry? In edit mode, grab verts or edges and move them around (cancel, don’t accept) to see if something separates.

I sorted it. Even though the shape of the building was square , I mapped the brickwork on the bay windows as a cylinder and it was OK
