Artists loft

I’m sure you can recognize that this is from Jonathan Williamsons Arch Viz course. I have never done an Arch Viz scene before so credit to him for it all he helped so much learnt a lot. Recommend it to anyone.

This is not my final render I noticed after I rendered etc that the cloth on the painting is to high and does not fit I will fix it. The feel of the scene I was going for was of an artists loft no computers or anything. I made the furniture and everything myself no imported models. I do feel this image needs something more to complete it I just cannot pin point what.

Any critiques on furniture design and the feel of the image will be help accepted. Tear it apart :).

Thanks

Took me a while to notice it but at first I thought the handrail was just floating there. Maybe you could give that crystal(?) panel a different tint so it’s more noticeable. I personally don’t really like the pink furniture as it seems to be pretty stiff and not comfy at all. The textures looks pretty good but I think you went a bit overboard with the bump, maybe lowering it a bit will give the floor a more smooth look rather than sand paper. The same goes for the windows central column.

The lighting looks great and the overall feel is pretty good as well but it doesn’t really look like an artists loft. At least not me to me anyways.

Very good points I see what you mean now. I will go and improve on it. Thanks

Not a horrible interpretation of Jonathan’s Tutorial. I would lower the bump map. Too much makes it look unnatural. Your floor mat looks to stiff. Try to make it less symmetrical, thus more natural through adding wrinkles and curves. Also, the overall scene seems small, kinda like you’re looking at if from far away. That makes the scene slightly less believable as you are inside the room. A few camera tweaks should fix this. I see it a lot with the Blender default camera.

Thank you  notes taken and regarding the small room I assume thats why Jonathan didn’t include the wall to the left in his render.

Ok so I went and changed to what I thought and saw what an artists loft would be like. Untidy full of paintings no specific order in terms of placement of things.
