Nice idea. Though at the first glance at the drawing, I thought the man (nurse) in the front is eating that guys arm Or maybe that’s the intention? As if this guy in his hallucinations thinks the nurses are cannibals.
lol!! … but no, theyre just pulling him away … the concept is that the left half of the screen is the imaginary part and the other half is in the mental asylum, the real part (or couls it be the other way round??) …
so ive made a tree, a part of the imaginary world … the left branch wont be entirely in the picture so there’s no texturing on it after a point … im thinking of adding some vines and moss etc …
next, there will be a bed of grass on the ground … and some weird flashy foliage etc …
The tree looks great so far! Trees are a tricky thing.
Actually, there was a nice tutorial on BlenderGuru a couple of months back about making trees using the Trees from Curves Python script. Here is a link. It may help you out a bit when you get to making the branches and leaves.
here the latest bit … ive added a vine around the tree and some grass … also increased the nor value of the texture on the tree … time to work on wierd, shiny flora …
i was running out of ideas for the forest, so i started work on the main madman character … heres what iv done till now … i’m leaving out the hands and feet for now … i think i’ll add them after the final pose is decided … what do you guys think???
i’m thinking of keeping this look on the madman’s face …
the nose job was a bitch! @#@ … i wonder how surgeons do it …
thanks clewer. ive posted a screenshot of my modes with edges … whaddaya think? this is just a just a basic character model, i’ll finish them up after ive assigned them their final poses …
finished with the two nurses … here are some screens …
The edgeloops look clean, but there is an important rule when you are modelling characters for rigging:every joint should have 3 edgeloops,so when the arm bends(for example)both the forearm and the upper arm kee their volume and shape.I hope you understand and this is helpful!
I didn’t examine the images throughoutly…You have all the edgeloops so dont mind this comment…I guess you it is all about weight paining now.
Excellent work! I really like your style, especially for the heads/faces.
When doing your poses remember to keep an eye on the line of action. 3D is a lot different than drawing comic books, but the same principles apply. There is a fairly nice (although with Spongebob!) description here for action lines.
@Asano : The clothes are modeled ( tweaking tweaking and more tweaking )
… In the beginning i thought of making lots of trees and vines and green … it seemed daunting, so i backed off into a drier setting … and now that you’ve prompted, i think i should get back to the original idea to give it another shot … and yes, there will be animals on the trees and the ground …
@browntb : Awesome tutorial man!! i really enjoyed reading through it … nice!! picked up priceless tips!! It’s simple to understand if taught, but so hard to realize the little things that make all the difference by yourself …
